Masonry Cements

Performance to meet today’s fabrication needs.

The Right Products for the Right Project

St Marys masonry cement is produced to meet the rigorous specifications of the “Standard Specification for Masonry Cements” for Types N and S. Consisting of a mixture of Portland cement, limestone, and proprietary additives, our products are balanced at the plant for product.

Performance to Meet Today’s Fabrication Needs

St Marys cements are used to produce Types N and S mortars and will produce a mortar that will comply with the requirements of ASTM C-270 for both the proportion and property specifications. Product is available in one cubic foot bags containing a plastic moisture barrier and in bulk via pressurized bulk containers.

Canada

Type N Masonry Cement
The right product for medium strength, general purpose applications.

Moderate strength Type N is acceptable for general use such as exposed non load-bearing masonry walls, above grade plain masonry and tuck-pointing.

Specifications
Usage

Medium strength for general use such as in exposed non load-bearing masonry walls above grade and in tuck-pointing.

Exceeds

Standard Chemical and Physical requirements of CSA A3002. Mortars proportioned as per CSA A179 will meet the requirements of that standard.

Available In

30 kg bags

Your choice for higher masonry strength requirements.

Where a higher compressive strength is required, such as for parging, foundation walls and walls designed with reinforcement, a stronger more durable cement such as Type S Masonry Cement is recommended.

Specifications
Usage

Recommended for use where higher masonry strength is required, such as for parging, foundation walls and walls designed with reinforcement.

Exceeds

Standard Chemical and Physical requirements of CSA A3002. Mortars proportioned as per CSA A179 will meet the requirements of that standard.

Available In

33 1/3 kg bags

Designed for projects requiring enhanced bonding characteristics.

Our Portland Lime cement is a special formulation of Portland cement and double hydrated Type SA lime.

Specifications
Usage

It can be used for above grade load-bearing masonry and for masonry applications requiring enhanced bonding characteristics. Its higher cement contents contribute to excellent bond strength development, which is especially suited to natural stone, manufactured stone and any low absorptive masonry unit applications. Lime adds to the workability and lightens the mortar colour, making Portland Lime ideal for matching older buildings originally constructed with a Portland and Lime mortar.

Exceeds

Portland Cement Type GU and Type SA Hydrated Lime exceed the requirements of CSA A3000 and ASTM C207, respectively.
