St Marys Cement Alternate Fuel Demonstration Project

Bowmanville Plant: Proposed Alternative Fuels Demonstration Project

St. Marys Cement wishes to obtain the necessary permits to proceed with an Alternative Fuel Demonstration Project later this year. The alternative fuel demonstration would substitute alternative fuel for a portion of the fossil fuel used at the Bowmanville cement plant over approximately 24 days, in order to gather site-specific air emission data from the plant to determine the environmental feasibility of using certain alternative fuels. The proposed alternative fuels for the demonstration are post-recycling paper bio-solids and post-recycling residual materials from a recycled paper plant and post-composting residual plastic film from a composting plant. A public open house was held on August 13th to provide information on the project. St. Marys is hosting a second public open house on September 10th, to provide you an opportunity to review preliminary information regarding the Alternative Fuel Demonstration Project and to speak directly with the project team members.

St. Marys Plant: Proposed Alternative Fuels Demonstration Project

St. Marys Cement wishes to obtain the necessary permits to proceed with an Alternative Fuel Demonstration Project later this year. The alternative fuel demonstration would substitute alternative fuel for a portion of the fossil fuel used at the St. Marys cement plant over approximately 4 days, in order to gather site-specific air emission data from the plant to determine the environmental feasibility of using this alternative fuel. The proposed alternative fuel for the demonstration is post-composting residual plastic film from a composting plant near London. St. Marys is hosting public information sessions on August 27th and September 11th, to provide you an opportunity to review preliminary information regarding the Alternative Fuel Demonstration Project and to speak directly with the project team members.
