The fiber in Fiber Blue do more than produce a smooth finish. By preventing early shrinkage cracking, they can reduce permeability and increase durability.

How does Fiber Blue stop early shrinkage cracking?
The fibers in Fiber Blue are uniformly distributed multi-dimensionally throughout the concrete mixture. These small micro fibers mechanically lock in the fresh concrete matrix providing reinforcement for the mixture while its tensile strength is the weakest. This reinforcement reduces the formation of all types of early cracking which would otherwise permanently weaken the resulting concrete. The concrete permeability is decreased while the surface characteristics are improved. Together these effects work to produce a long-term better quality, more durable and serviceable concrete.
Fiber Blue is designed to attack cracks. Every cubic metre of Fiber Blue concrete contains millions of high-tensile microfilaments, which act as an intricately woven matrix to stop cracking by as much as 75%. Fibers are distributed evenly throughout the mix, intersecting minute cracks which form on or below the surface. By stopping cracks during the setting process, Fiber Blue ready-mixed concrete makes sure they don’t become large cracks later.
